Here in this article we’ll look at the ways which you can stop someone from facetiming you but not blocking the person on your device.
Lete proceed to that.
How to stop someone from facetiming you without blocking them
To stop someone from facetiming you without blocking them, you simply have to use do not disturb feature to prevent calls on your device without blocking the person.
This is the most efficient and effective way to stop a call without blocking the caller on your phone, and many a time I use it especially whenever I don’t want to be disturbed
On iphone, once you enabled do not disturb mode on your device, it will automatically block both facetime calls and cellular calls.
Fot cellular network calls, the caller will be redirected straight to voicemail if you have an active voicemail.
For facetime call, the call will end abruptly and displays facetime not available on the callers screen.
Aside from do not disturb, there are other ways to stop someone from facetiming you without blocking them.
Don’t Miss:
They are as follows;
1. Airplane mode
Once you have airplane mode enabled on your iPhone or device, it will automatically turn off internet.
As facetime requires internet connection, as long as airplane mode is enabled on your device and which you don’t have an active Wi-Fi connection, you won’t be able to receive or make FaceTime calls.
Talking about how to stop someone from facetiming you without blocking them, simply use airplane or flight mode and it will stop people from facetiming you due to no internet connection.
However, I don’t necessarily recommend this option because you won’t be able to receive cellular calls or SMS text messages.

2. Using do not disturb mode
When you talk about how to stop someone from facetiming you without blocking them, the best answer is to use do not disturb.
The reason why do not disturb mode is the best option here is that you can customise it, and allow access to cellular calls and sms text messages.
You can set do not disturb for only facetime calls and it won’t affect any other features on your phone.
Also, you can set do not disturb for a particular contact on your phone, and this will prevent or stop the person from calling your number and facetime.
Let me show you how you can go about this.
Setting do not disturb for facetime only;
Get started by opening the settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down a bit and you will see Focus as shown below.
Tap and open the FOCUS option you’re seeing right there.

So all you have to do is to pull down the control center and you will see where it says Focus as shown below.
Tapping on the focus will present you with four options which includes;

If you don’t choose any number, you will be able to receive cellular network calls while on do not disturb mode.

Our main focus here is Facetime.
Now go back and tap on Apps.

With this, you won’t be able to receive facetime calls or even make a facetime call until you enable it on your device.
4. Turn off internet
Another way to stop someone from facetiming you without blocking them is by turning off internet on your device.
As I don’t recommend using the airplane mode option as it will in turn disable cellular calls and sms text messages, what you need to do is to turn off internet on your phone or device.
All required from you is to pull down the control center and turn off both Wi-Fi and cellular data on your phone or device.
Once there’s no active internet connection on your device, facetime will never function and this will stop someone from facetiming you without blocking the person.

You cannot block someone from facetiming only because once you block a contact on your iPhone, you have blocked the person on phone call, sms text message and iMessage.
This is how Apple devices like the iPhone works.
Once you block someone on your iPhone, you have generally blocked the person from reaching you on your device and this includes facetime and iMessage, sms text message and cellular phone calls.
So asking can you block someone from FaceTime but not calls, the answer is no because if you block someone from facetime, you have also blocked the person for cellular calls.
Cellular calls, and sms text messages plus iMessage.
