On iPhone contacts, some names may appear in blue color due to a specific feature called “Smart Links” or “Data Detectors.”
When the iPhone recognizes certain types of information in a contact entry, such as phone numbers, addresses, or dates, it automatically detects and highlights them in blue.
The blue color indicates that these entries are interactive, meaning you can tap on them to perform various actions.
For example, if a phone number is displayed in blue, you can tap on it to make a call directly from the contact. If an address is highlighted, tapping on it will open the Maps app, allowing you to view the location or get directions.
Similarly, tapping on a date may create a new calendar event.
