iMessage not working for one contact?

In order words, you may have been blocked by the recipient.

Let’s continue.
1. When iMessage is unavailable
You have been sending multiple iMessages to this very recipient but all to no avail as the messages never get through to the recipient, maybe the recipient iMessage is not available.
There are several reasons that causes iMessage not to be available and they are as follows;
- When there is no active internet connection.
- The iMessage is disabled.
- The recipient apple device is switched off or dead flat.
These are the main causes of iMessage being unavailable or active on an iPhone, iPad, Mac or the Apple watch.
Talking about When there is no active internet connection: If a recipient phone is disconnected by it’s network provider, iMessage will not work unless the recipient has an available and active Wi-Fi connection.
For an iMessage to work, there must be an active internet connection like Wi-Fi or cellular data.
The iMessage is disabled: If iMessage is disabled on any of the Apple devices, sending iMessage to a recipient will definitely not go through and instead it will send as sms text message.
So maybe the problem of imessage not working for one contact may be causes by the fact that the recipient disabled iMessage on it’s iPhone, iPad, Mac or the Apple watch.
Honestly, this is quite rare to see though it does happen especially if the person doesn’t need disturbance from people close to him or her.
The recipient apple device is switched off or dead flat: iMessage will not go through if the recipient iPhone, iPad, Mac or the Apple watch is switched off. Any of these devices must be on and active with internet connection for iMessage to work.
These are the things that will prevent iMessage from being available to send and to receive messages.
2. Sending iMessages to a number not activated with iMessage
Have you ever found yourself in a situation whereby you sent an iMessage to a fellow apple device user and it turns green?
You will ask yourself why such is happening or happened.
This is simply because you sent an iMessage to a wrong contact information.
When i say to a wrong contact information, I mean to a wrong iMessage contact. Someone might be using it’s Apple ID or email address for it’s iMessage and not phone number, then you went ahead to send iMessages to the phone number, definitely it will turn green.
This is because the phone number is not activated with iMessage.
There are people that are using their email address or Apple ID for their iMessages and not their phone number. So as the phone number is not activated with iMessage, sending iMessages to the phone number will not go through but instead it will turn to green and which indicates sms text message whicg uses cellular network service.
In this type of situation you will have to contact the person and inquire the person’s exact iMessage number or email address.
So if the person is using email address for it’s iMessage, then you will have to send iMessages to the said email address or Apple ID. Again if the person is using a phone number for it’s iMessage, get the exact way the person used number in activating it’s iMessage and send iMessages to the number.
This is one major reason you are experiencing imessage not working for one contact on your iPhone or iPad.
3. Being blocked on iMessage
Being blocked on iMessage is another main reason why imessage is not working for one contact on your iPhone or iPad. When you are blocked by the recipient, the sent iMessage will never get delivered to the recipient.
Now let me make this very to clear to you.
If someone blocked you on iMessage, the sent iMessage will never turn green or show failed to deliver but instead it will only send but you will never see delivered.
Why I’m stressing this is because some people do think that when blocked on iMessage the sent iMessage will automatically turn green or show failed to deliver, but that isn’t the case.
iMessage will turn green only if iMessage is not available at the very time of sending messages or probably you are sending a message to an android phone user or to someone using a feature phone.
iMessage will show failed to deliver only if iMessage has stopped working on the phone or there’s no active internet connection or texting plan to send sms text message.
iMessage stopped working for one person
This is usually causes when the recipient has blocked you or probably changed it’s iMessage apple ID.
If you have been chatting with someone on iMessage then imessage suddenly not working for one contact , it may be due to the fact that the recipient has changed it’s iMessage contact to another one.
I’m saying this based on my experience and I found out that the recipient changed it’s iMessage contact from his phone number to just only email address. Sending iMessages to the phone number will automatically turn green irrespective of the fact that I have been previously sending iMessages to the phone number.
Can you disable imessage for one contact?
No you can’t disable iMessage for one contact but instead you can only block the contact on your iMessage.
There is no possible means to block iMessage for one contact as once you disable iMessage on your iPad, iPhone, Mac or Apple watch, you have automatically disabled it for all contacts. So instead what you have to do is to block the very contact on your iMessage.
To do so;
Kindly open your messages app and locate the conversation you had with the very contact and open it.
Tap on the person’s profile followed by tapping on info just like on the screen below.
Tap on info and right there you will see block this caller.
Go ahead and tap on block this caller and the person will be blocked on your iMessage. Kindly note that if you block someone on iMessage, the person can still call your number, but messages won’t go through.
To completely block the person on your iPhone, go to phone app and block the person as well. This will now prevent the person from contacting you through messages or phone call.
How do I turn iMessage back on for one contact?
If you turn off iMessage on your device, kindly know that there is no way you can turn iMessage back on for one contact but rather it will be for all contacts on your device.
As long as iMessage is enabled on your iPhone, iPad, Mac or the Apple watch, it will be available to everyone using iMessage. Aside from iMessage this is applicable to any other instant messaging apps and services like the Android rcs chat, whatsapp, Skype, Facebook messenger, telegram, etc.
Why do some iMessages not deliver sometimes?
If iMessage is not delivered sometimes it may be due to the fact that the recipient iMessage is not available or probably you don’t have an active internet connection on your device.
Why are my iMessages green for one person?
If your iMessage is sending green iMessages to one person on your phone, it simply means the person’s number is not on iMessage or the person is using an android phone.
I’ve already explained this especially if the recipient is using an apple device.
Someone might be using it’s email address or Apple ID for it’s iMessage and not phone number, sending iMessages to the phone number will automatically turn to green because the phone number is not connected with iMessage.
In this type of situation you will have to contact the person and request for the person’s iMessage contact information.
iMessage will also send green sms text messages to android phone users as iMessage is not available on android but only on Apple devices.
Remember that iMessage will never turn to green because you are blocked, but rather iMessage will never say delivered if you have been blocked by the recipient.
All these I have for you on the question of the day, why imessage not working for one contact on iPhone, iPad, Mac or the Apple iWatch.
