On iPhone, iPad, Mac or apple watch, it will display no location found or the hours ago the location was last updated.
On iPhone, we have two ways to share location and this include the likes of Find My and iMessage.
Some how they differ from one another when it comes to sharing location and checking out someone’s location on your iPhone or apple device.
Let me explain how you will know if someone turned off location on iPhone based on how you will see it on Find My app and iMessage.
Find My app:
To know if someone turned off their location on Find My app, if it shows No Location Found or hours ago, then it means the person turned off their location especially when it says no location found.
Below is an example.
Now listen, if it says No Location Found, it means the person turned off Share My Location as shown in the above image.
But it it shows Hours ago like in the image below, then it means the person turned off Location Services, or maybe the person’s phone or apple device has no active internet connection.
Though in some certain occasion when location services is turned off for a long period of time it will show no location found on find my app.
On iMessage:
Talking about how do you know if someone turned off their location, on iMessage, If the other person turned off Location Services on his phone or apple device, it will display No Location Found on iMessage.
Below is an example.
I also noticed that if Share My Location is turned off, it will still display No Location Found
So if both location services and share my location are turned off or any of the two is turned off, it will display no location found on iMessage.

Now moving onto android, and using the popular Google map location sharing.
How to know if someone turned off their location on android?
On android, if it shows offline or hours ago, then it simply means the person turned off location on their Android phone or tablet.
On android, when it comes to location sharing I only use the Google map location sharing and it is very good and accurate.
If someone turned off location on his android phone or tablet, and which the person is sharing location with you, it will display offline or hours ago the person’s location was last updated.

And when the phone location is not active for a long period of time, it shows offline as shown in the image below.
Talking about how do i know if someone turned off their location on android? If it shows offline or hours ago, then you should know that the person turned off location or maybe the person has no active internet connection.
Remember, location sharing or location services requires an active internet connection. Without an active internet connection it will display no location found, offline or the hours ago the location has been last updated.

Will it tell you if someone turned off their location?
The answer is no. It no longer tell if someone turned off their location on iPhone, ipad or android device bus Google map.
Don’t expect to see a notification from Find My app, iMessage or Google map notifying you that someone turned off their location.
That will not happen.
