- Navigate to Items and tap on Add Item.
- Draw your airtag close to your phone and it will display the AirTag on your phone.
- Tap on connect and give your airtag a name.
- Agree to the terms of linking the AirTag to your apple ID.
- Tap on Done or tap on Find My app and that’s it.

So let’s say the AirTag is not yours and you try to connect it or pair the AirTag to your phone, it will not work unless the owner remove the AirTag from his phone or apple ID.
